Well he does seem smart but without sound it's hard to tell if he's good at paying attention or if he can just hear the metal ball bearing rolling around and hitting the side of the cup when the human stops moving them around. I imagine for anyone with decent hearing and close enough proximity it's not hard to guess where the bearing is directly after he stops.
I think you're missing the point... Not only is the cat able to pick out the ball, but it is also able to understand that it is supposed to guess which cup it is in, in the first place. Very impressive

Amazing! Cats have a special thing for motion. I think they can read read motion like we can read books or like dogs read smells.
